Stu in a tight Spot

Stu leaned far enough forward he could see something down in the hole - it wasn't Patty. It was something else, something shiny and Aaaaaaarrrrrrggggg!
Stu lost his footing and slid head-first into the hole, but got stuck half way in.

A Hole in the Sand?

The coconut disappeared - completely.
It wasn't just sunken down a little bit.. it was gone.. and where it hit the sand was now what seemed a VERY deep hole.
Stu leaned forward to see how far it went down - and to see if Patty was OK.

Impact

Patty hung on tight as the coconut whizzed passed Stu's head - a near miss.
The coconut hit the sand with a thud and seemed to sink deeper than it really should have... Stu watched in amazement..

Hang on!!!!!

The coconut fell like a rock... or like a coconut!
Patty hung on for dear life... she figured that if she could stay on top of the coconut, she may have a safe ride down!

Bombs Away

Patty pulled out her trusty claws and gave the supporting stem one good chomp... and then realized what she had done...

Coconuts

Patty climbed up and sat on a coconut.
They were huge - and secured quite well to the palm tree - but she had to figure a way to get one free. She thought for a moment and then had a brilliant idea!

Climbing the Palm

The little crabby 'Patty' suggested that she climb the tree and cut loose a coconut.
What a great idea.
Stu carefully placed her on the tree and she began to climb.
It would be a while, but definitely worth the wait.

Hungry

Stu's tummy began to ache and he needed to get some chow pretty soon.
Ahead in a palm tree he spotted some coconuts!!!
The only problem was.. they were about 30 feet above his head.
Hmmmm? What to do?
The trees were very tough to climb - all pokey and prickly.

Shoulder Crab

Stu gently set the crab up onto his shoulder.
He said, "Welcome to my adventures little hermie crab."
Hermie smiled and gripped onto Stu's fur... it was the beginning of a new friendship.

Hermit Crab

Stu reached down and picked up a small shell that was attached to the top of the floating stick.
It was stuck to the stick so he had to tug a bit - and realized it was 'holding ON' to the stick.
It was a hermit crab.
The little guy had been holding on for dear life for quite some time - Thank God Stu came along.

Floating Stick

While playing in the waves, Stu noticed a stick floating in the water. There was a curious object clinging to the stick and he walked over to investigate.

Curious Lizard

A local inhabitant scurried to the top of the a rock to see what all the Hooping and Hollering was about... it was clear that the lemming jumping up and down in the surf was happy!
The lizard simply smiled - everyone gets their day.
Everyone.

Waves

Stu relaxed on the beach a bit and then got a wild hair to go splash in the waves.
He jumped up and ran into the warm splashing waves - he even forgot to take off his backpack.
It was good to be alive!

Oh Great Ocean

Stu stepped out onto the beach and took in the fabulous sights and smells of the ocean.
It was so refreshing.. he took a seat in the warm sand and soaked in some sunshine.
What a great day.

Ocean in View

Stu began to hear a familiar sound off in the distance.
The sound was one of the most pleasant sounds on the earth, waves breaking on the beach.
As he got closer, he could see the beach ahead thru the trees.. he had made it!!

Steady Now

There were often place along his journey where the path was blocked and Stu found he had to cross the stream to continue. It was fairly easy since there were plenty rocks to step on.
And he had pretty sure footing - like any good lemming.

Stream

Stu popped the backpack onto his back and walked over to the nearby stream.
If there was one thing he knew - water flowed down hill.
Secondly, all water goes to the ocean. So, his little brain calculated that if he were to follow the direction of the flowing water - he would eventually get to an ocean.
So without hesitation - he started walking.

Pack Supplies

Stu grabbed the extra fish, his two rocks that made the fire, and some vines... and tossed them all into his backpack. You never quite know what you will need on any given adventure - but it's good to be somewhat prepared.

Homemade Backpack

Stu gathered some large leaves and some vines and fashioned himself a pretty nifty backpack.
It took a little while, but he needed to have something to carry his little supplies.
He hadn't eaten all the fish - he's pretty smart that way - and knew he would be hungry again on his journey.

Ooooo.. Fresh Fish

Stu caught 3 fish in all and cooked them up over the open fire.
They were sooooo good. He wished he had a side of potatoes and gravy.. but you take what you can get!

Breakfast

Stu woke up with the sun and was HUNGRY.
He grabbed a stick, sharpened it on a rock and went spear fishing in the nearby stream.
It took a few times to get one, but he was persistent and caught his breakfast!
Yummy yummy! Fresh fish!!!

FIRE!!!

Yippppeeeeee!
A few sparks landing in just the right place was all it took!
Stu was going to be WARM tonight!
The sun slowly set beyond the trees, but Stu was drying off nicely.
He was hungry, but decided to wait for morning to deal with food.
A little pinch in his tummy kept reminding him he hadn't eaten in a long time, but he needed the rest more.

Sparks

Stu found some rocks and began cracking them together.
Wonder of wonders - one of them must have something metalic in it, enough to create some small sparks. He cracked the rocks together over and over again.
It looked like it was actually going to work!
If all went well - he may have a nice little fire to warm himself up - the night was falling and he was still wet.

Gotta Make a Fire

Stu was still wet, so he decided to make a fire.
He gathered up some sticks that were laying around.
They were dry and perfect size for a nice little fire.

Off to NEW adventures

Stu walked across the top of the water - he had forgotten it was water and it just didn't matter - he was excited for the new adventures that lay ahead.
It was going to be great...
The fish were even happy to see him in such high spirits!
